My name is Kiana Naser – I am a recently graduated student of Pam’s and studied with her for nearly three years. I have been playing the piano for nearly twelve years, but I can wholeheartedly say that, over my time with Pam, I was able to rediscover the importance that music holds in my life. Currently, I am pursuing music at Queen’s University, and I know that I wouldn’t be on this path without her support and guidance. I learned what it means to continually work at overcoming obstacles that are thrown our way, both musically, and in life. And that lesson was on the forefront of this past year, when the pandemic completely changed how she delivered lessons, and how students received them. It still amazes me how quickly the technological adaptation happened. Pam quickly discovered software and technology to deliver our piano lessons virtually and helped us to become proficient at handling it. And after less than a month, we were taking virtual piano lessons – at a quality that to me, was unimaginable. But it became a reality – because the most important lesson that I’ve learned over the past couple of years, is that we must constantly evolve and adapt to our surroundings – in music, and in life.

My children are so blessed to have Pam as a piano teacher. They both have very different learning styles. Pam quickly recognized this and taught them accordingly, so they could be successful. Their lessons look nothing alike, but they both feel proud of their abilities. Pam helped them find their love for piano and we are very grateful.

I took piano and theory lessons with Pam over the course of ten years. Pam successfully prepared me for all my practical and theory examinations, as well as assisted me in preparing for my Bachelor of Music audition. Pam would be flexible in terms of repertoire, finding pieces I would enjoy even during my “picky teenager” phase. I appreciated that Pam was dedicated to her craft, attending masterclasses and workshops in order to be the best teacher she could be. Her example and encouragement led me to pursue a career in music which I value and enjoy deeply. I highly recommend lessons with Pam if you want to succeed in music!
