About Pamela
Pamela is a piano teacher based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. For over 30 years, she and her students have explored all sorts of music written for piano from Classical to Contemporary styles. Pamela graduated from Conservatory Canada with her Associate Teacher (ACCM) diploma, being awarded a medal of excellence in piano pedagogy in 2007. Pamela also has a Business Administration degree from Lakehead University. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario Registered Music Teacher’s Association (ORMTA) and the Canadian Federation of Music Teacher’s Association (CFMTA). In the past, Pamela served as both the local brand president of ORMTA and as piano coordinator of Lakehead Festival of Music & the Arts. In 2017, Pamela was recognized by the University of Manitoba for her significant contribution to excellence in teaching as a former student of hers won the gold medal from his undergraduate degree in music.


Numerous students of Pamela’s studio have represented the Lakehead Festival of Music & the Arts at the provincial level. Many have also won medals of excellence & scholarships from Conservatory Canada for the highest mark for their respective grade in both Classical and Contemporary Examinations. Several students have continued their studies in music at the undergraduate level and two have gone on, receiving their M.A. One of her students is teaching, adjudicating and examining now in Alberta and another has had TA positions at the University of Manitoba and Yale University in music theory.
Recently, Pamela has enjoyed working as a collaborative pianist and appeared as a guest artist with the Toronto Summer Music Festival as well as live streamed on the Violin Channel in an ensemble for the Heartbeat Music Project alongside violist Bethany Hargreaves and violinist Gregory Lewis. Pamela has been active as a church musician for over 30 years.
